At the Heather Wilson for Senate campaign rally on Oct. 24 in Albuquerque, First Congressional District candidate Janice Arnold-Jones, a Republican and former state legislator, called up to the podium former U.S. Rep. Manuel Lujan, Jr., R.-N.M.
Lujan represented the First District in Congress from 1969 to 1989 and then served as U.S. Secretary of Interior under President George H.W. Bush from 1989 to 1993. Arnold-Jones faces former Bernalillo County Commissioner Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, in the open- seat district that now encompasses all of Albuquerque and adjoining Torrance County.
In a gesture of solidarity with Secretary Lujan [see above video], Arnold Jones said…
“This gentleman, this Representative for our state, has set the standard for constituent services, among many other things, and I intend to honor his work.”
