N.M. Gov. Martinez takes Colorado stage to proclaim Romney a bipartisan leader

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez delivered impassioned remarks in support of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., in front on an energized crowd of at least 10,000 on Tuesday night.

Here is some of what she said, transcribed from a KOB 4 video

“Now Pres. Obama rattled off a cute joke last night about defense planning not being a game of ‘Battleship,’ she said regarding Monday night’s presidential debate. “Well, Mr. President, our budget isn’t a game of Monopoly either.” …

“How about immigration reform? He promised to pass it in his first year in office. Pass it? He hasn’t even proposed it.”

Reflecting on her own experience working with a Democratic-controlled legislature in New Mexico, Martinez made it clear that Romney is the only legitimate choice to balance the budget and bring bipartisanship back to Washington, D.C.:

“Now fortunately, there’s a guy back stage who’s got the answers to the problems we face. And his is a record we should all take a look at. Mitt Romney balanced budgets for 25 years in business. … And as governor of Massachusetts, he turned a budget deficit into a rainy day fund. And he did it with a legislature that was 87% Democrat. Now that’s something that I can appreciate. … And frankly, it’s the spirit of bipartisanship that we could use in Washington right now.”

Below is the KOB video of her remarks. Above is a video clip of Romney at the event.
